Nestled at the edge of a desert trade route, where shifting sands meet the dark waters of an ancient river, this multi-level oasis tavern stands as a beacon for travelers, rogues, and merchants alike. The structure, built atop stone foundations, merges old-world architecture with signs of decay and mystery.
The Sunken Bazaar – Lower Market
Perched on the edge of the harbor, this bustling market serves as a hub for seafarers, smugglers, and merchants dealing in exotic and often questionable goods. Wooden walkways creak underfoot, barely holding together over the murky waters. Cages filled with snarling dogs sit among crates of rare spices and shimmering fish, their owners shouting over the din of the marketplace. Strange, violet energy glows beneath the water, hinting at something unnatural lurking below the surface. What secrets might these traders be hiding? And who—or what—might be drawn to the eerie glow beneath the docks?
The Mystic Den – Upper Market
This section of the market is quieter, but no less unsettling. Instead of the usual alchemist shop, a shadowy merchant sits at a table covered in strange artifacts—bags filled with powders, vials of unknown liquids, and a skull resting atop ancient scrolls. The air smells of incense and decay. Behind an assortment of clay vases, something glows—a dragon egg wreathed in flickering firelight. Whispers of its origin fill the space; some say it came from a forgotten temple, others claim it was stolen from a mighty drake. What will happen if someone dares to take it?
The Cursed Waters
A massive, intricately carved basin sits at the far end of the upper level. At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary water feature, but upon closer inspection, something is terribly wrong. The water shifts unnaturally, its surface swirling in chaotic patterns. Those who have stared too long claim to see ghostly figures in its depths. The local sailors whisper of a lost civilization that once controlled the tides, only to be cursed for their arrogance. Now, the waters here hold memories of their demise. Dare you touch the surface and risk being pulled into its past?
The Desert’s Edge – Arcane Device
At the heart of the tiled plaza stands a strange, ancient device, its golden mechanisms still whirring with forgotten power. Symbols from a long-lost language glow softly, pulsating as if waiting for a command. Locals treat it with reverence, unsure of its true purpose. Some say it controls the winds, others believe it holds back the desert itself. A few reckless souls have attempted to activate it, only to vanish without a trace. What happens if the wrong sequence is triggered? Or worse—what if the right one is?
